Thrifty donations


The Window of Hope, La Ventana de Esperanza, is seeking donations for its thrift shop. Donations can be dropped off at the facility, 910 N. First St., or arrangements can be made for pick up. The store is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 287-2731.

Debt free

Workshop

A 13-week program is being previewed through April 20 to help families beat debt and build wealth. Classes begin at 6:30 p.m. on May 4 at The Way, The Truth and The Life Ministry. For more information call 287-8985.

MS support

A support group for people with multiple sclerosis is being planned. Anyone with the affliction or friends and family members is urged to call Sandy at 876-1896.

Teen spirits

Area clergy are sought to help spiritual wellness in teens. The Health Council will sponsor a lunch during May to discuss possible activities. For more information call Laura at 285-3542.

Cemetery

cleaning

Grants Memorial Park will start summer clean up on April 15 and will continue through the summer months. All memorials must be removed each Tuesday before 6 p.m. For more information call the city clerk at 287-7927.

Residents sought

for review board

The City of Grants is seeking three citizens and three alternates to give employees and employers fair hearings. The Personnel Review Board positions are voluntary with a two-year term.

Artisans sought

Artists, craftspeople and food vendors can take part in the upcoming Eastern Navajo Arts and Crafts Fair. The fair, set for June 13, will be held in Torreon. For more information call 1-505-731-2422.

Scholars help

The PEO Sisterhood is holding a May Day basket sale to raise money for scholarships for young women. Baskets will be delivered on May 1 and sales continue until April 27. Baskets are $10 and can be ordered by calling 287-2911 or 1-505-850-7002.

Planting sale

The Rockies 4-H Club is now taking orders for plants and bulbs for springtime planting through Breck's and Springhill. For more information Call Penny at 285-9980.

Cancer care

A support group is being planned for survivors, care givers, and anyone with a relationship to cancer. For information call Terry Smith at 290-4024 or e-mail: xraytls@yahoo.com

College help

Scholarships are available for high school graduates in public housing or receiving Section 8 housing assistance. Applications, eligibility requirements and information can be found at the Grants Housing Authority at 285-6359.

Healthy children

A workshop to help parents raise responsible children will take place each Wednesday at Roberta's Place. The free sessions will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at 801 E. Roosevelt Ave. For more information call Megan at 287-7203.

Tobacco free

A program to help people stop smoking is beginning at Future Foundations Family Center. Classes and individual consultation will be available. To sign up or for more information call 285-3542.

Senior bridges

The Senior Citizens schedule a weekly bridge game at Future Foundations on Thursdays. Games begin at noon. New members are always welcome. For more information call 287-37l3.

Young adult help

The Cibola County Youth Council is seeking students in grades six through 12 to become part of an advocacy organization. Beautification projects, educational programs and field trips are being offered. For more information call Dale at 285-3542.
