GRANTS - The motivated third period of computer graphics taught by Mike Hatfield at Grants High School has completed a multitude of successful fundraising, and a talent show on May 13 was no different.

After each show the crowd wildly applauded. If the music would fail or an artist would begin to falter, the audience would cheer them on to finish in support.
At the end of the night, the Lopez sisters, Ashley and Cassandra, along with Josh Fisher would dominate the top three spots. Fisher finished first with an original song he wrote for a friend.
“My friend asked me to write a song,” explained the talented guitarist, “so I did.”
His timing and flow of tunes energized the crowd until he came to a finale in the performance. The applause was explosive with excitement.
Second place belonged to the trio of performers Ashley and Cassandra on microphones and Fisher on guitar.
Cassandra sang a solo that was awarded third place to clean up the rest of prizes that had a sizable cache of Isotopes' tickets and a $100 Diamond G certificate.
“We thought it would be nice to have something for the kids to show their talents and have a fun night,” said Miranda Jaramillo, of the computer graphics class.
The third period has been split into different committees that regulate every aspect of fundraisers, from prize donations to acquiring judges to looking into joining other fundraisers.
The main purpose of this fundraiser was to generate enough funds for a fitness loop that encompassed the campus with several workout stations such as pull-up bars.
The enthusiastic class looks forward to helping future students have a better facility, but what will next year's 'third period computer class' bring?
“I don't know,” said Jaramillo. “We will all be gone, so it is up to them.”
