Royce Bricker

Services for Royce Merton Bricker, 85, a long-time Grants resident, will take place on June 27, 2009, at Cope Mortuary at 11 a.m. in Farmington. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Farmington with full military honors. Bishop Jared Lusk will officiate. A viewing will be at 5 p.m. on June 26, 2009, at the mortuary.


Bricker was born March 17, 1924, in Leesville, Texas, to William Clyde and Beulah (Hardin) Bricker and passed away on June 21, 2009, Father's Day. No man has more richly deserved the title of “Dad”.

Royce was an avid outdoorsman and fiercely patriotic man who served his country during World War II aboard the USS Kidd in the South Pacific.

He is survived by his wife: Lois Jean Bricker; sons: Wendell of Seymour, Mo; Terry of Mesa, Ariz. and Cope Reynolds of Farmington; daughters; Kathy McCain and Pat Bricker of Mesa, Ariz., Ann Bricker of Clearfield, Utah, Jerry Haas of Dallas, Texas, and Debi Graham of Henderson, Nev.; sister: Dorothy Brown of Poteau, Okla., and Martha Brown of Kaufman, Texas; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Hollis, William Clyde and Jack Bricker; sister Carole Truly and three grandchildren.

Cope Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
