GRANTS - Following his meeting at Cibola General Hospital on Saturday, Representative Harry Teague held a public meeting at the Cibola County Convention Center as part of his “Harry in Your Hometown” tour.

About 65 citizens turned out to meet one-on-one with the congressman to discuss issues important to them. Each person was allowed 15- 20 minutes with Teague to present his case.

Prior to the private meetings, Rep. Teague answered some questions on the House healthcare reform bill, which was in various House committees before the August recess.

“Everyone wants healthcare reform, but the House bill isn't final yet,” he said.

A citizen asked if he would return to Grants to explain the final version of the bill and he replied that the work schedule in Congress would probably prevent a return visit at that time, but that he would post the final version on-line.

On Aug. 6 staffers from Rep. Teague's office held “Mobile Office Hours” at the convention center to hear the concerns of Cibola County citizens.
