Dolores Vigil

    Funeral Mass for Dolores C. Vigil, 78, of San Rafael, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the San Rafael Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at the San Rafael Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Compassion Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the church.



    Dolores was born on April 14, 1931, in San Rafael, and was called home to our Heavenly Father on Oct. 11, 2009, in San Rafael.

    She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband: Filemon Vigil of San Rafael; daughters: Roberta Vigil and husband Greg of Albuquerque, Alica Sonneborn and husband Scott of Spokane, Wash., Luanna Vigil and husband Dulce of Albuquerque; son: Filemon Vigil, Jr., and wife Terese of Vacaville, Calif.; grandchildren: Andrea Wilhelm, Leticia Ramirez, Joseph Vigil, Desiree Vigil, Dearion Sonneborn; great-grandchildren: Gianna Gurule, Robert Gurule and Evan Gonzales; sisters: Sarah Welter and husband Reiner of Albuquerque, Abby Ricker of Grants, Jena Richardson of Henderson, Nev., Anita Erb and husband Stephern of Moriarty  and Rita Gutierrez and husband Angel of San Rafael; brothers: Carlos Chavez, Jr., and wife Domie of San Rafael, Benny Chavez of Grants, Reuben Chavez and wife Helen of Albuquerque, Michael Chavez and wife  Rita of Albuquerque and Mario Chavez and wife Tammy of Carlsbad; extended family: Martha Chavez, daughters: Yvette Vega and family, Yolanda and husband Joe and family and Yvette Jaramillo and family and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents: Carlos Chavez and Rita Chavez; sister: Isidorita "Sister" Pena.

    Pallbearers will be: Joseph Cruz, Clifford Chavez, Gary Porter, Paul Chavez, Joshua Chavez, Wiley Sayers and Glen Barela.

    Honorary Pallbearers will be: Vincent Pena (In Memoriaum), Lupe Urvanejo, Mela Saavedera, Daisy Saavedera, Ruth Galves, Domi Chavez and Helen Chavez.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
