Lewis Bennett

    Services for Lewis Bennett, 82, of Milan, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park with full Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221. Pastor Clyde Clark will officiate.

    Bennett was born on Sept. 24, 1927, in Chester, W.Va., and passed away on Nov. 7, 2009, in Milan. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Bonnie Bennett of Milan; sons: Roy Bennett of Milan and James Bennett of Silver City.

    He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy Bennett and Lottie McCoy Bennett; sister: Elva Adkins.

    Pallbearers will be: Terry Manning, Larry Diaz, Joe Diaz, Roy Bennett, Tad Fish and Jerry Talley.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
