Services for Ann Donwen, 85, of Grants, N.M. will include a small family service that will be held at a later date off the coast of Oxnard, Calif.
She was born on March 16, 1927, in Joiner, Ark.
Ann passed away on Sept. 21, 2012, at home in Grants surrounded by her loved ones.
She moved to Oxnard in 1945 where she raised a wonderful family and touched many lives.
Later in life she continue to share her love, caring for others at a retirement home in Medford, Ore.
Ann moved to Grants in February of 2005 with her loving husband Robert “Bob” Donwen.
After Bob passed away in 2007, Ann spent her days bringing joy to all those who knew and loved her.
Ann was known to many only as “Grandmother Annie.”
She will be missed by many.
As my grandmother would say, “I love you dearly.”
The family would like to thank all of those who pulled together and created the support needed to help everyone through our time of need.
Ann is survived by her children: Richard and Linda Ecton, Palm Bay, Fla.; Rochelle McKeown, Grants; Nick and Kit Donwen, Oxnard, Calif.; grandchildren: Shane and Debra Ecton, Port St. Lucia, Fla.; Nicole and David Howse, Selma, Texas; Jason and Mary Ecton, Palm Bay, Fla.; Kimberly and Casey Brunson, Milan, N.M.; Colin and Angela McKeown, Grants; and Jody Donwen, Ventura, Calif.; and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the cancer charity of choice.
Riverside Funeral Home, Albuquerque, N.M., was in charge of arrangements.
