Services for Donald Dean Taylor, Sr., 53, of San Rafael, N.M., will include

Chapel Services by the Reverend Matt Clark on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Compassion Mortuary, Grants, N.M.

A memorial Celebration of Life will immediately follow from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Grants. The family will be accepting pictures or short remembrances at the Memorial Celebration to be placed on a Memory Board.

Donald, and his twin brother Ronald, were born on July 13, 1960, in Grants, to Dean and Shirley Taylor.

Donald passed away at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2O13, following an illness and heart complications.

He was a lifetime resident of the Grants and San Rafael area. Donald was an active member of Uranium Capital Speedway from 1974 up to the time of his death, with numerous wins and more than 20 championships to his credit.

Donald was a member of the Elks. He was a diesel mechanic for a number of businesses in the Grants area. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends.

Donald touched the hearts and lives of many friends and family members with his kind words and knowledge.

He always put everyone before himself, and because of that he will be dearly missed.

Donald is survived by his mother: Shirley Taylor, of San Rafael; sister: Deborah Scott, of Norton, Kan.; sister: Linda Clark and her husband, Roger Clark, of Emporia, Kan.; sister: Serina Lake, of Goodland, Kan.; twin brother: Ronald Taylor, of San Rafael; brother: Robert Taylor, of Belgrade, Mont.; his son: Donald Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Valerie Taylor, of Grants; daughter: Sandra Taylor Johnson and her husband, Stanley Johnson, of Milan, N.M.; and son: Chase Taylor, of San Rafael; four grandchildren, Dakota, Damon, Haven and Darrell, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Darrell "Dean" Taylor.
